BIOGRAPHY
James Kennard is a recognized artist in multiple media and the designer and creative director of this website.
He has created a broad range of artwork since his early childhood. Stop-motion Claymation experiments led to a series of informal animated films, followed by edited video productions of every kind. Attending the International High School in San Francisco, Academy of Art University courses and the Art Institute of San Francisco, he developed his skills in a variety of media, from oil painting to silk screening and sculpture.
He went on to complete a BA in History at Oxford University, pursuing his passion for bringing ancient worlds to life. At Oxford, he was both Creative Director and Editor of Isis magazine, England's oldest student-run publication. Subsequently, he has made a living as a freelance artist, creating animation, comics, public banners, graphic design, promotional materials, videos and painting. He has worked on multiple projects with InCA since 2005.
James is the Art Director and Lead Animator of one of InCA's newest projects, The Lute Maker's Daughter, the first in a series of half-hour animated films telling stories from ancient China.
